Berkshire County, like most communities in the Commonwealth and across the country, faces budgetary shortfalls and lack of funding. As a member of the countywide leadership team, the District Attorney must be conscious of limited
resources and know how to use them wisely.
The District Attorney must use our tax dollars where they count the most - on violent crime - and save money by using effective and lower-cost alternatives to jail for low-level offenders who are not a threat to community safety. Additionally, the District Attorney can increase savings by expanding the number of offenders whose sentence is community service. And ultimately, our greatest savings and safety are both ensured when we move offenders from being criminals to becoming productive, tax-paying members of society.
As District Attorney I will create a safer Berkshire County by making smart, fiscally responsible decisions without compromising public safety.
